💜 A weekend with BTS & Netflix in South Korea! As a content creator (and large K-pop fan) within the TV & Film category who talks almost exclusively about Asian media, Netflix has been at the top of my bucket list for “brands to get on the radar of.” I organically talk about their K-dramas on a weekly basis! Last month, I was invited by Netflix & TikTok to join ~70 other creators from across the globe to fly to Seoul and see the BTS comeback concert live. My first brand trip AND it was international! It was a jampacked two-day itinerary with a color analysis, K-pop dance class, fine dining at a Culinary Class Wars chef’s restaurant and other industry events. I am 100% self-managed. Every brand deal I negotiate myself and opportunity has been gained through my own networking and merit. After some failed talks with talent agencies earlier this year, I thought reaching this tier of large companies without representation would be impossible. This past month has been the best kind of affirmation for the business half of my brain. Stream Arirang! 130 5🎬 And that's a wrap on #AnimeExpo! Between some of the industry's largest conventions and a higher volume of influencer marketing campaigns, summer is a content creator's busiest season. This year, I committed to making more convention content by vlogging my experience and filming a new street interview-style series (that will be a real doozy to edit). I was also able to meet some of my brand contacts face-to-face and visit the booths of previous partners. This is just the beginning of a busy month for the nerds with San Diego Comic-Con and KCON LA falling on the same weekend. Will I be able to make it to both? #contentcreation #influencermarketing #socialmedia 12 1🫵 Can I interview YOU? I don't view unemployment as a setback, but as an opportunity. The extrovert in me loves talking to people about their experiences, so I'd love to hear about what your position looks like day-to-day, the industry you work in and what your marketing background looks like. If you work in #InfluencerMarketing in-house for a brand, at an agency or representing influencers as a manager, I'd love to connect with you and ask some questions! Feel free to brag about your accomplishments. There's something that can be learned from everyone and I aim to find a direction for myself one coffee chat at a time! If you see my unfamiliar face pop up in your connection requests, then I'd love to speak with you. #marketing #digitalmarketing #socialmedia #socialmediamarketing #contentcreator #opentowork 31 2🫂 What did you do on your first day of unemployment? Today, I’m playing mobile games. Unfortunately, this job market takes no prisoners and I am once again #openforwork. Although I currently feel overwhelmed and fearful of yet another unknown period of unemployment stress, this isn’t my first rodeo. I’m trying to be kinder to myself this time around. I'd like to thank the members of my Social team at Mos, Noelle Mercer and Joseph Arning for being the best coworkers I've had yet. Together, we created multiple viral videos for the Mos social media accounts, tripling our weekly app installs and growing our Instagram following by 33%. In addition, the influencer marketing program that I managed contributed to the majority of our total app installs. I'm proud to have scouted content creators that resonated with our Gen Z audience! Connections and recruiters, please forward my way any social media management, content creation, influencer marketing and communications roles. For anyone else like me who currently facing unemployment, remember to be kind to yourself! #socialmedia #influencermarketing #socialmediamanagement #marketing #hiring #marketingjobs #remote 49 10Choosing to build my scholarship around #anime was a no-brainer. Remembering that I had to have a name for this scholarship 10 minutes before the deadline was a different story 😅. If you want an easy $200 for college, then download the Mos app and apply for my “Weebs Get Degrees” scholarship: https://lnkd.in/dhajzS5g 16 2😪 There is nothing more anxiety-inducing for influencers than posting sponsored content. Conversely, there's no natural high better than a sponsored post performing well! This week has been one of those weeks. When Rakuten Viki reached out to me for a third collaboration to promote their newest k-drama, Wedding Impossible, I knew my video was going to be an instant hit. This series has all of the plot elements that made previous recommendations of mine go viral. Social media is the Wild West. The algorithms do not care about how much YOU love your content or how much time it took to produce, it's a luck of the draw on how that initial pool of users reacts to it. Within the first 24 hours, my video has gained over 275,000 organic views on TikTok and 145,000 on Instagram with hundreds of positive comments about the series from other k-drama fans. Content creation is a lot of ups and downs but today is a WIN! 🎥 Check out Wedding Impossible: https://lnkd.in/geEyYDMA #influencermarketing #socialmedia #contentcreator 12 4First company retreat ✅ Working with a team that you enjoy can make or break your experience at a company and I'm so fortunate to love mine! Truthfully, I'm surprised no ambulances were needed after seeing how competitive everyone gets. We each were gifted a scholarship to create our own requirements for and award to a Mos student and of course, mine is going to be anime related. Stay tuned! 15 0💰 #Influencers: If you want to land that brand deal, then you need to build a media kit! A media kit is your social media resume. It provides brands and agencies with more info on you as a creator, stats on your audience’s demographics and most importantly, your rates. While not every brand will ask to see a media kit, they will ask for these items to determine if you’re worth paying for, so why not present it to them wrapped in a nice bow? The initial set-up is laborious, but it will save you time in the long run and help you establish legitimacy as a creator. You can hyperlink to previous partnerships so that brands can see your experience and being able to send a media kit eliminates all of the initial email drafting you might have to do when a brand asks for your individual rates. For those looking to get started, here is a blog post from Later that I referenced to build mine and share with new creator partners at work: https://lnkd.in/ddViCdjt. Canva also has a variety of free templates now that you can use as a starting point (not sponsored)! You pour hours into your resume and portfolio for job applications, so why not your influencer resume? It's time to start believing in your skills and work! #influencermarketing #contentcreation #contentcreator #brandbuilding #socialmediaexpert 5 0
